A Drive Start Control Malfunction means the vehicle has detected a problem related to starting, acceleration, braking, shifting, or electronic stability control. Depending on the fault, the vehicle may reduce engine power or disable certain safety functions.

1. Pull over safely, shift into Park or Neutral, apply the parking brake, and turn the vehicle off for 3–5 minutes. Restart it and check whether the warning remains.
2. Do not continue driving if the vehicle has poor acceleration, abnormal shifting, weak braking, severe engine vibration, unusual noises, smoke, or red warning lights. Arrange for towing.
3. Check the 12-volt battery and charging system. A weak battery, loose terminals, poor ground connection, or low charging voltage can trigger multiple control-system warnings.
4. Check whether the brake lights work normally. A faulty brake-light switch or brake-pedal sensor can prevent the vehicle from correctly detecting braking input.
5. Make sure the floor mat is not interfering with the accelerator pedal. Check that the accelerator moves freely and returns normally.
6. Inspect the electronic throttle system. A dirty throttle body, faulty throttle-position sensor, or accelerator-pedal sensor may cause reduced power or starting-control warnings.
7. Use a full-system diagnostic scanner to read fault codes from the engine, transmission, ABS, stability-control, body-control, and hybrid or electric-drive systems. A basic OBD scanner may not access all modules.
8. Inspect related fuses, wiring, connectors, and ground cables, especially around the battery, brake switch, accelerator pedal, throttle body, transmission, and wheel-speed sensors.

Do not replace expensive parts before reading the fault codes and checking live data. Clearing the warning without repairing the cause may only make it return.
