How to Reset BMW ScreenA BMW display may occasionally freeze, turn black, respond slowly, lose its Bluetooth connection, or stop loading applications correctly. In many cases, restarting the iDrive system can solve the problem without deleting personal settings. Step 1: Park the VehiclePark the BMW in a safe place and keep the vehicle stationary during the entire reset process. Make sure the ignition or accessory mode is switched on so that the iDrive system has power. Step 2: Locate the Volume ButtonFind the volume control button on the dashboard or center console. It is usually a round knob that also functions as the power or mute button. Step 3: Press and Hold the ButtonPress the center of the volume button firmly and keep holding it down. Do not release the button when the audio turns off or becomes muted. Continue pressing it without interruption.
