- Check the tire pressure
Inflate all four tires to the recommended pressure shown on the tire-pressure label, usually located inside the driver’s door frame.
- Turn on the vehicle
Start the engine or switch on the ignition. Keep the vehicle parked before beginning the reset.
-
Open the vehicle settings
On the iDrive screen, select:
CAR → Vehicle Status → Tire Pressure Monitor
On some BMW models, the menu may appear as:
My Vehicle → Vehicle Status → Tire Pressure Monitor
- Start the reset
Select Tire Settings, Perform Reset, or Reset Tire Pressure, and then confirm the reset.
- Drive the vehicle
Drive at a steady speed, preferably above 20 mph or 30 km/h. The system will automatically relearn the tire-pressure values.
- Wait for completion
The reset progress will appear on the display. Once the process reaches 100%, the new tire-pressure values have been stored successfully.
Important Notes
- Do not reset the TPMS when the tires are underinflated.
- If the warning light remains on, check the tires for leaks or damage.
- The exact menu names may vary depending on the BMW model, production year, and iDrive version.
